Residents vote in new Conservative candidate
Former supermarket manager Luke Hall has been voted in as the new Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Thornbury and Yate.
The Westerleigh resident, who now runs the Farmfood supermarket chain in the South West, will be campaigning to become the constituency’s new MP in 2015.
Luke is no stranger to local politics having campaigned with Chris Skidmore MP to protect the green belt in south Gloucestershire and improve local transport services.
And having worked his way up from the shop floor at the Yate branch of the supermarket chain Lidl he said he wants to continue to develop a society in which people had the chance to work hard and get on in life.
He said: "I believe it is hugely important that we have a credible and local candidate. I grew up locally, went to school locally and I'm delighted to have been chosen to represent this wonderful area.
"I'm going to spend the next eighteen months listening to people in the constituency and I cannot be more delighted to be its candidate."
